Because its in gold, kim means jin (gold) in chinese. gold means number one too ^^

Roses Dates Muffins

Roses buttercream, specially for boyfriend's family during Hari Raya last year.

this is the first time i will share. with anyone, even strangers. been thinking this few months. sometimes, i asked if i do even regret that i choosed this path.

but i do like it, i do like pastry. these beautiful and creative pieces. but it isnt easy to do these. first, you must have the patient. second, its easy to fail than having to success. third, you have to study alot of books especially science.

many times, i wanna give up. but it means im loser.

the first time, i went to lydia's house to realised that she know how to bake a cake. it was a 'WOW' thing. curious to try and be someone that know bakings. nevertheless, she taught me with her so-bad-oven but still managed to bake a good cake (it was premix).

i brought the cake home happily. to share with mum and brother. from that day on, whenever it have to do with baking, i would always want to try and learn. i would buy premix packs at supermarket with my dad. even althrough, i did not have my own oven, i would mix premix and went to lydia to use her oven. i would share with her my muffins. i would wait for her to reach home so i can use her oven. then i found out another classmate of mine (jianting) know how to do pancakes! he taught me how to mix, strain the mixture and cook. that was yummy moments. he even brought down his oven to let me use. my sister then felt that i like baking.

after completed 'N' level, i applied for a course at simei ite (even i dont mind when it have to take me about 1hr 30 mins to go there - i stay at bukit batok). but my interview for the course failed, same applied to stella (my best friend). i then applied for office course at bishan. my dad drove me to bishan ITE but stopped me halfway when he asked my sister what was i applying for. he was down. my sister was upset when she know my dad stopped me because i had totally no idea what i want to do with my future.

i never do anything for 6 months after my results, i stayed home and slacked. until one day, my sister sms made me 'wakeup' and cried. i never forget what my sister told me. while i stayed home and slack without thinking for my own future, she actually think for my future and help me to choose my path. which was - baking career.

both of dad and she discussed about applying me to school which teach baking. dad made efforts to send me to school to apply and pay for everythings. he was even there during the interview with me. in the first place, i was worried i couldnt make it to school due to my hearing problems. i waited and waited for the school letter to see if my application was sucessful or not. when the letter came. i was so envious. opened, and the first person i wanna tell, was to my sister that i PASSED!

both of them were happy for me. i promised them that i will work hard. i remember my promises. sister even accompanied me to cold storage to buy my equipments and ingredients. she even accompanied me to library to borrow baking books and to choose my oven. my dad paid for my built-in oven. those moments. while dad helped me to make and fixed a wood box for my built-in oven, he cut his finger and bleed. i cried secretly, telling me that i must work hard to target my dream and make these two persons that matter to me to be proud of me. proud that they never regret and feel their efforts pay off.

but.. i suddenly feel low.. it have been four years. i still feel lousy as a cook. i feel as if im back again to these times again. i do know how to bake, but not to the prefect. why? everytimes, i work, its normal. i want to learn things at work. but i couldnt. its just not a right job. or its my heart not there when i work.

once, i did a guest's order. after delivering, i wish she would be proud of the cake i made when she open the box. but it come with disappointment instead. the white covering melted and ruined the whole cake. i was speechless and feeling as if i have make a full stop the path. but my heart tell me i cannot give up, or rather say, i have no way to give up but to continue walking down the road.

my heart was crying out. the whole night, i felt down. i know it isnt right. i need to find a way to solve it and let nothing disturb me. nobody know how truly inside i feel. it isnt the way i want it.

so here, im finding a solution to fix my serious problem. the answer will come soon. for that, i will become successful, i will keep my promise and never let my dream die. i will make my family proud. i thankfully friends and my relatives for their supports throughout. even you think my cakes are great, i still want to make it to prefect 101%.
